How the high school GPA calculator works
If all your classes count equally, give each 1 credit and your GPA is a straight average of grade points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, and so on). If your school weights by semesters or block classes, enter those credit values instead so longer classes count more.
Worked example
Suppose you earned an A, an A-, a B+, and a B across four classes that each count equally (1 credit each). Convert to points and average them:
GPA = (4.0 + 3.7 + 3.3 + 3.0) ÷ 4 = 14.0 ÷ 4 = 3.5
A 3.5 unweighted GPA is a solid B+/A- average — right at the classic honors-list threshold and competitive for many state universities.
